Welcome to St Mary’s Cathedral Kids’ Church!
At St. Mary’s we’re convinced that the gospel is for all people, including the youngest of children. We strive to support parents in their great responsibility to bring up their children to know and love Christ as Saviour and Lord. We’d love you to join us!
The Kids’ Church team have prepared a series of Easter activities, beginning with a talk at 3.00 pm on Good Friday, activities to join in at 3.00 pm on Saturday and a talk at 10.00 am on Easter Sunday! All of these will share the message of the Cross in a way that is engaging children aged 3-12.

Important Update Relating to Covid-19
We’re sorry that we are not able to meet face to face at this time, but we are meeting with the children virtually each week. Beyond our time together we also want to encourage you and your children to keep reading God’s word and trusting in his Son, Jesus. We are delighted to help you together as a family continue to grow in your knowledge and love of Him by connecting you to helpful resources below.
There are many ways to do this:
- If you would like to connect with the Kids’ Church teaching team you can do that via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
- For ideas on discipling your children at home you can take a look at our Kids’ Church Facebook page or listen to our talks on our YouTube channel.
- If you are a regular at Kids’ Church we hope to “meet” virtually from time to time. If you would be interested for your children to join for a short time reading and talking about God’s word or you would like to connect with other parents please complete this form.
This is a really difficult time for all of us and very confusing for children, especially when they see us worried about what is going on. A really helpful approach to talking to your child about Coronavirus can be found here.
And here are some helpful resources for fruitful engagement that are free to use.
Please do get in touch if the Kids’ Church team can be of any help.
Children aged 0-12 are warmly invited to join our classes which provide

At present, the following groups are available:
Lessons are taught by a minimum of 3 teachers, beginning with a short playtime followed by singing and Bible teaching from God’s word in a simple and interactive way. Our goal is to introduce children to God and Jesus. Online classes provide a chance for parents and children to participate together.
Lessons are led by at least 2 teachers. Lessons begin with singing, prayer and games, followed by an interactive teaching time from God’s word, which is then reinforced with various activities including singing, games, craft and prayers. Our goal is to introduce the children to the main story of the Bible, and help them begin trusting in Jesus.
Children spend time being taught God’s word and learning more about trusting and following Jesus. Lessons are interactive, and includes games, songs and activities. Our goal is to help children begin reading the Bible for themselves and trust Christ as Saviour and Lord.
For this age group, we encourage the children to engage directly in the study of God’s word, and to work out for themselves what it means to follow Christ as their personal Saviour and Lord. Children become confident in finding their way around the bible and are encouraged to read out in class if they are able. We spend time sharing and discussing application of God’s word often using puzzles and games to introduce or reinforce the topic.
If you or your child have any special needs, or you would like us to help you settle your child in Kids’ Church, please do contact us. We’re delighted to provide advice and support as much as we are able.
