Electrical Rewiring
Over the years, as our electrical consumption grew, additional wires and cables were added on and the existing circuits expanded to accomodate these needs. This demand has grown exponentially in recent years, a load that the aging electrical system was precariously supporting. There had been a few near misses in the past when short circuits have caused sparks to fly.
With the completion of the timber roof trusses, it only made sense to finally attend to an overhaul of our electrical circuits to ensure the safety of our building. The scope of works included the redesign of the wirings while centralizing all circuits to a new distribution board, removing and replacing all wires and cables, and reinstating all lights and audiovisual fittings.
The total anticipated cost of the rewiring works for the Main Cathedral building and the Jubilee Hall amounts to RM240,000. Alaka Foundation has donated RM203,902 to this cause, leaving a balance of RM36,098 to be raised for the completed of the project.
CCTV System
For increased visibility on the safety of the Cathedral premises, we need to raise RM29,705 to upgrade our existing CCTV system. This includes a number of additional cameras as well as an upgraded server.
