The Building Maintenance Fund is used for general building upkeeping to ensure that we can continue to meet safely and comfortably in the Cathedral. This fund is separate from the General Fund, and contributions have to be made specifically for it. As it stands, the Maintenance Fund draws contributions from the General Fund, customary donations, and contributions for usage of facilities.
In 2025, some of the works that were undertaken under building maintenance include:
- Air-conditioning servicing and repairs
- Washing of roof tiles (Main Building and Jubilee Hall)
- Inspection of Jubilee Hallf Roof
- Repairing of leaks in various places
- Repairing water pipe leaks and repair of water pumps
- Replacing the waterproofing on the flat roof above the pastoral offices
The total expenses as at 30 Sept 2025 amounts RM112,567.
To be able to continue maintaining the Cathedral, along with a few planned repairs in 2026, it will be financially prudent to raise the reserves of the Building Maintenance Fund at a target of RM200,000.
